This includes installation, commissioning, and maintenance, as well as all on-site activities for the UK nuclear industry.

About the Role

We are seeking a Safety and Hazard Studies Engineer to contribute to critical projects by ensuring robust hazard verification processes and supporting the implementation of safety requirements. The successful candidate will work on internal and external hazard studies, provide technical expertise, and engage with cross-functional teams during the design and construction phases.

Updating Hazard Verification Studies
-Apply relevant technical methodologies to update studies related to internal and external hazards for buildings.
-Develop simplified design calculation hypotheses and define scenarios for various internal or external threat situations.
-Identify equipment under threat and determine how it would be affected.
-Conduct studies on functional redundancies impacted by threats.
Technical Management of Protection Requirements
-Manage technical topics related to protection requirements for hazards in building and system designs.
Technical Support for Design and Construction Phases
-Provide expertise on implementing safety functional requirements within the design.
-Support the matrix organization during design and construction phases by addressing technical requests and design changes.
Participation in Discipline Meetings
-Attend Edvance-wide discipline meetings related to hazards to ensure alignment and communication across teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills
-Engineer qualified to degree level or equivalent, preferably specializing in safety.
-Proven knowledge of safety requirement implementation and hazard studies, ideally within a highly regulated industry.
-Familiarity with Nuclear Safety Assessment Principles and experience in their application.
-Experience in systems engineering, layout engineering, and pipework.
-Proficiency in navigating design tools such as PDMS and Navisworks.

Languages
-Fluency in English is required.
-Proficiency in French is advantageous.
